Getting a Partner That Will not Quit on You

I thought this would be a great introduction article to begin our journey together. I have found that the best way to motivate me on my fitness journeys is having a person who shares the same fitness goals. Someone there to support, encourage, and yes, sometimes even chastise me as we fight temptations to eat unhealthy foods and put off regular exercise.

Finding this person is not as easy as it sounds and I am sure by now, you have come to realize that finding this special person is rare indeed. The difficulty basically comes from bad timing. Simply put, to find this perfect partner, that person would have to share your motivation at the same time that you become ready and serious about achieving your fitness goals.

I have found that instead of waiting on that perfect someone, a perfect piece of tech can fill in the gap. Apple Watches, Fitbits, or any other device that tracks your fitness goals can fill the void of that missing partner. They are great motivational tools to have. They track your movements all day and will even let you know when you are slacking! Fitness Apps are also great motivational tools. Apps such as “My Fitness” are great ways to track your diet, water, and calorie intake. When using these Apps to track your food intake, a great tip is to make a habit of logging what you will eat before you eat it and not after. This is a good way to avoid overeating since you will know what you can eat before you have a chance to overindulge.
